2CL has completed the installation of a 44KW solar photovoltaic array at its Hampshire headquarters, marking a significant step forward in the company’s long-term commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
Sustainability has been a growing priority at 2CL for a number of years, and the decision to invest in a large-scale solar installation reflects the company’s wider drive to reduce its carbon footprint in a meaningful, measurable way. Rather than making incremental changes, the team opted for a solution that would deliver lasting environmental benefit across the business.
Working with Eastleigh-based Empower Energy Ltd., 2CL maximised the available commercial roof space with a system comprising 94 JinkoSolar panels, 47 SolarEdge optimisers, and a SolarEdge inverter. Empower Energy was selected based on their company ethos and the quality of the products they specified, values that aligned closely with 2CL’s own approach to long-term, responsible investment.
Installation took two days and caused no disruption to day-to-day operations. The system was commissioned without issue, and the results were immediate: a significant reduction in the site’s energy consumption from the grid and a corresponding drop in the company’s carbon output.
The solar array sits alongside a broader set of sustainability initiatives at 2CL, which include a published Carbon Reduction Plan and an ongoing focus on responsible procurement and operations.
