Radio Licensing
With all radio solutions except license-free radios, you require a fully managed license giving you access to the radio spectrum.
This licensing is vital, as interference can render even the best-designed system completely useless. The Office of Communications (Ofcom) are responsible for the management of the radio spectrum to ensure each system receives a high quality of service, and will not suffer from significant interference leading to failures.
If you are hiring a radio system for a building, site, project or event, we will supply these on standard hire frequencies at no additional cost. This licence is held by 2CL and is issued to us by Ofcom as a supplier of radio equipment. It is important to note that this licence does not guarantee that you will not receive interference on your channels, as every radio dealer in the country is issued with the same frequencies for radio hire.
At 2CL we recommend that if your communications are critical to the smooth running of your project or event, you allow us to apply on your behalf for dedicated frequencies for the hire period. There is a charge for this service, however, it will give you peace of mind that your radios will not incur any interference for the period that you have hired the equipment for.
Radio Licensing for the Hire of Radios outside the UK
If you are looking to hire radios for use outside of the UK, you will require a radio license from the country you intend to use the equipment in. The team at 2CL are happy to assist with any applications if required.
