2CL attended the SGSA Conference at Silverstone Racing Circuit, joining partner Commend UK for a day of conversations with safety and security professionals from across sport.
Conversations throughout the day reflected a sector in the middle of a significant shift in how it approaches technology.
Jack and Rich spent the day in discussion with safety officers, venue managers, and security leads from football, cricket, and rugby clubs.
It was clear from those conversations that the sector is actively looking at how technology can help raise standards, demonstrate compliance, and give operational teams better tools on the ground.

What Caught People’s Attention
Axon Body-Worn Camera Software
The Axon body-worn camera platform drew consistent interest from delegates throughout the day. The software’s capabilities — particularly around evidence management and integration with existing security infrastructure — resonated strongly with venue safety teams.
High-Megapixel Camera Proof of Concept at Fulham FC
We showcased video footage from a proof-of-concept high-megapixel camera installation at Fulham FC, and the response spoke for itself. The clarity and scale of the imagery — covering large areas of the stadium with exceptional detail — made an impression on a lot of attendees and has opened up new conversations about what’s possible for their own venues.
Commend OD27 Stadium Display
Our partners at Commend UK joined us on the stand with their help points and translation demonstrators. The OD27 Stadium Display, a high-resolution outdoor screen designed to deliver critical safety information to crowds in real time — attracted strong interest from delegates looking at how technology can support safer, more informed spectator experiences.
Case Study
St Mary’s Stadium
Southampton FC is a strong example of what a fully integrated security system looks like when everything is working together. When the club needed to overhaul its infrastructure, 2CL delivered a complete upgrade: advanced CCTV with AI analytics, integrated radio communications, body-worn cameras, and TRBOnet dispatch software — all deployed across the stadium as one connected system.
The results were measurable with a 80% reduction in time spent on post-match incident review.

“It has been a game-changer for our operations, saving us up to 80% time when we search and review post-match incidents.”
— Andy Darbyshire, Event Safety Officer & Head of Security, Southampton FC
